Erkan, the guidelines for making entries ST/SD_Lexicon_Entries emphasize that words and terms in the Lexicon (and by implication their descriptions) should have a scholarly foundation, and solid academic credentials. A number of entries in the Lexicon have cross referenced other pages in the SystemsWiki which contain content which does not carry a scholarly citation. The "Colombo Approach" is an example. Could you remove those cross references and cease that practice in the future?

Thanks, and regards,

Bill

Hello Bill, did I misunderstand the talk here or was it just not precise formulated: Talk:ST/SD Lexicon Entries, see section: "linking to existing wiki articles?"
And it is a wiki, so feel free to change as you would like to see it. Have removed the one link you mentioned, --Erkan Yilmaz 18:07, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes that is what it says, and that does not override the overarching intent of the Lexicon which is to be scholarly and have a solid academic foundation.. I know anyone can change things in a Wiki; by practice I use something like this as a means of communication. Otherwise, you'd have no idea why I repeatedly remove your contributions. - Bill Braun
Ok, all clear now. See you, --Erkan Yilmaz 18:52, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

lexicon structure - Contr2

Surely, most knowledge representations are collected in an alphabetically sorted inventory, just as dictionaries are. It would be a nice change from the systemic approach to give an overview of its wisdom and to change that bad habit, for one reason they offer access only when you are familar with a form (the word, the name, etc.) But there is another need for retrieval, when you are familar with the thingie and you want to find its name or usual way of referring to it. Surely, this is not the only problem with lexicons and dictionaries that are usaully organised around entry words (single items) whereas there is growing number of multi-word names and indentifiers, etc. that should also be possible to find with ease. Response to Lexicon Structure

Ferenc, it's a good point. Do you have an idea how to implement it in a Wiki? Or somewhere else? Gene 11.07.01
